Christmas gingerbread

Gingerbread cookies are one of the favorite cookies of all ages. Delicious, soft and easy to prepare...they always take us back to our childhood and remind us of the holidays we spent in the warmth of our home with our families together. INGREDIENTS

DOUGH

  • 50 dkg of plain flour
  • 20 dkg of sugar
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 15 dkg Apimel honey with cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon of fat
  • nutmeg
  • vanilla extract

GLAZING Depending on your preferences, you can make the glaze traditional (mix 1 egg white and 300 g of powdered sugar) or be creative and play with melted chocolate, cream spread or jam.

PREPARATION

Place the flour in a bowl and add: sugar, eggs, honey, baking soda, lard, nutmeg and vanilla extract. Mix everything together and knead the dough by hand. When the ingredients are combined and the dough is smooth, wrap it in cling film and place in the fridge for 30 minutes. After the dough has rested in the fridge, divide it into three parts and roll each part out with a rolling pin to a thickness of 1 cm on a floured surface. Then take the dough balls, roll them in flour and start cutting out the dough. Place the cut out dough shapes in a baking tin lined with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minutes. After removing the gingerbread from the oven, leave them at room temperature for an hour to cool.
